We are seeking full time Assistance Director for our Montessori Preschool.
Assistant Director. Magic Flowers LLC (DBA: 7 Magic Flowers Bilingual Montessori Preschool) seeks an Assistant Director based at San Jose, CA campus. Job duties include: Under the supervision of Director, plan, direct, and coordinate academic and nonacademic activities in a Mandarin immersion setting for employer’s preschools and childcare centers and programs, including before- and after-school care. Confer with parents and staff to discuss educational activities and policies and students’ behavioral or learning problems. Monitor students’ progress and provide students and teachers with assistance in resolving any problems. Support Director in recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating primary and supplemental staff; recommend personnel actions for programs and services. Teach classes or courses or provide direct care to children. Set educational standards and goals and help establish policies, procedures, and programs to carry them out. Support Director in determining the scope of educational program offerings and prepare drafts of program schedules and descriptions to estimate staffing and facility requirements. Support Director in the allocations of funds for staff, supplies, materials, and equipment and authorize purchases. Direct and coordinate activities of teachers and staff. Prepare and maintain attendance, activity, planning, accounting, or personnel reports and records for officials and agencies, or direct preparation and maintenance activities. Plan, direct, and monitor instructional methods and content of educational and student activity programs. Supporting Director in reviewing and interpreting government codes and developing procedures to meet codes and to ensure facility safety, security, and maintenance. Support Director in reviewing and evaluating new and current programs to determine their efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with state, local, and federal regulations; recommend any necessary modifications. Collect and analyze survey data, regulatory information, and demographic and employment trends to forecast enrollment patterns and the need for curriculum changes. Inform businesses, community groups, and governmental agencies about educational needs, available programs, and program policies. Write articles, manuals, and other publications and assist in the distribution of promotional literature about programs and facilities. Support Director in preparing and submitting budget requests or grant proposals to solicit program funding. Organize and direct committees of specialists, volunteers, and staff to provide technical and advisory assistance for programs. Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely-related field, plus at least 6 months of relevant work experience in curriculum development, teaching, and classroom management in Mandarin immersion preschools or similar environment. Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin and familiarity with Chinese culture are required due to the nature of the job duties performed at a Mandarin immersion setting. Send resume to L.
